Wild About Velvet

Hi friends! We are now officially into holiday season! As I mentioned before, I'm out with pumpkins and in with the trees. I've already began decorating my apartment (Thanks Hobby Lobby 50% off) and Houston has been feeling quite festive for the past month. Excited to share a few holiday looks with you the next couple of weeks and I wanted to kick it off with Velvet + Leopard trend.
I know most stores have had velvet on the floors for a few months now, but FINALLY it is time! Ok so not only am I wild about velvet BUT this skirt (jk SHORTS). How cute is it? I was at Zara a few weeks ago and I knew this was going to be a frequent bottom for me. In the store it was paired with the prettiest cream sweater (similar here) - tempted to buy but I know there are plenty of my own closet options. Wah so this style is almost sold out online, but check in stores there might be a few hanging around! I found a few similar ideas where you can incorporate animal print here and here (love the coat).
Leopard has suprisngly become such a neutral these days. I'm seeing it on shoes, accessories, coats, dresses, bottoms, literally everything. Of course this trend is a balancing act - Pair with a solid or neutral topper jacket or sweater. I would not mix prints/get crazy with colors here. For holiday these shorts pop nicely with this rich burgundy color. Oh and the fact that these are actually shorts makes this such a winner.
This look can be dressed with heels/tights for holiday or even over the knee boots (like in this post) for a dinner/date look. REAL talk though - I had already wrangled my over the knee boots off earlier that day for this post and I figured my ankle flats would be a little more Texas heat friendly. Which I will say that my plain black flats have been a great style for me lately - between these above and my Steve Madden booties I've been able to run around meetings/appointments easily and still look put together #profeshh.

G&G Life Talk - Loved being home and my home cooking feels have sparked. A few weeks ago I made this soup here y'all gotta try. Anyone who follows my snapchat/instastories knows that ChefV loves to kitchen create. I've been keeping up with my workouts and working to maintain a balanced meal prep - especially before we get into holiday partaysss. I made this YUM Taco soup (Whole30 friendly) along with these copycat RXBars. I found them doing a little Pinterest surfing and I have to say they are both Vic and Chayson approved...give them a try and let me know what you think.
Hope everyone is off to a great week!
