Taxi Pleaseeee!

Happy Sunday and back to the Big Apple this week - ah love visiting one of my favorite cities! SO sad what happened last week in downtown NY - prayers and sweet thoughts to those we lost. Such a terrible thing - it's like WHY do these things have to happen? I hope everyone is doing ok downtown...I can't tell you how many times I've walked that area, really hits home.
Busy week getting ready for Spring (already) lots of meetings, coffee (yep), and catching up with friends. It's always such a treat coming back and seeing everyone. Side note -Thinking of creating a Fav Hit List for NYC? I know a lot of friends and fam reach out to me when visiting the Apple (it can be overwhelming at first) but it could be helpful for anyone traveling to NYC.
That being said is it reallyyyy a trip to NY without hailing a cab? Never - Taxi please! So this outfit was one of my favorite I wore during last market week. The weather was not quite cool enough for a full sweater so this duster vest was perfect, along with the light knit turtle neck tank. The tank is from H&M and this duster was a Galleria Mall find I think the store was called ShopQ? Unfortunately it closed but I've added similar looks below. Length has been SUCH an important trend this season - long trench coats, topper jackets, vests, and robe like styles are all over store racks. I like it because with a heel or tall boots it really elongates the body...we all know we would love to add a couple of inches.
These Chanel inspired shoes have been in so many of my Fall outfit choices. Chic images here, here, and here inspired my purchase. Prissy and proper meets casual and cool. That's what I think of when loafers, slides, and slingbacks suddenly became the blogger IT shoes. But hey these are super easy to walk in, add a couple of inches, and seem to elevate any casual look. This outfit reminded me of something one of my favorite Bloggers Kat Tanita (With Love from Kat) would wear. Or even Parisian inspired - French girl cool :)
During my last visit in the city I was able to get some great fall style pics with my talented friend Griffin - Y'all she seriously has an eye for THE SHOTS. She is so good and it's always so fun catching up with her - dodging cabs and playing in the Fall Mums lol I feel like my snaps are always more fun or serious (she gets me to experiment with different poses and shots - Thank you!) Any NYC blogger ladies check her out HERE. Griff can get the ultimate gram :)
Life update - I really am loving Houston. I was telling a friend the other day that I love that if you're looking for something, Houston will most likely have it. It is a very diverse city and although there is no place quite like NYC - Houston is becoming a lovely place to live. Chayson and I checked out a few cocktail bars in Montrose this weekend and caught up with friends visiting at True Food Kitchen(too good!).

Ready to hit the week yall! Lets do this Monday thing.
