Usually when I think of pearls –
pretty comes to mind (prev post here). In this look I love the pearlsand lace
mixed with destruction. This post was inspired by nonother than a
little Pinterest surfing 😊 As I mentioned in my last
couple of posts I was in a bit of a closet rut and these pins here and here sparked this
look. A black base (top+bottom) along with a statement piece (denim jacket) was
a pretty easy/ I guess you could say “cool” look to achieve. This season I would have to say that two of my recent most worn
pieces are in this post - A black slip dress and of course this adorable pearl
denim jacket. Wait where's the dress??? A little closet improv and I tucked
this lacey dress right on in. I wanted a pretty lace cami but hey this works
just fine. I've worn this slip dress under a blazer, under a shear dress (as an
actual slip), and now as a lace cami :)
The real star of my look is definitely this oversized
denim jacket. Let me tell you it has earned its keep for sure in my closet and
it was SUCH a steal! I was shopping around and found it for $29 – it is a
juniors label I believe and MUCH less than a few of the contemporary labels
I've seen. I absolutely loved this look but with denim and pearls being such a
trend of the moment I wasn't sure if I wanted to fully commit to the price.
Happy with my get the look find. During our last trip out to LA this jacket was
the perfect outfit completer. The market buildings were freezing and I was
wrapped up all week. The whole oversized style is definitely one of this Fall’s
look of the moments as well. My jacket is a size small but sized up in the fit.
I like the cozy oversized feeling – everything I see these days is either
cropped or oversized haha. I am a fan of both especially these oversized
sweaters here and here. Ah and I need Texas to get a little cooler because I am
dying to wear this oversized
Chenille sweater I bought here a few weeks ago!
Life updates – I’ll be hanging out in Houston for the
next few weeks and happy to take a travel rest. It’s been a busy
few weeks between LA and NY. But of course I absolutely loveddd spending last
week in my old neighborhood. It was nice catching up with all the girlfriends
(cheers), shopping all the places, and visiting my favorite spots. The Crooked Knife (ALL TIME FAV), Sweetgreen, Culture Espresso+IrvingFarm Roasters made the list along with
newcomers Sel Rrose (do it for the gram), De Maria, and Honeybrains (lol at the name). My workout
girls and I tried SweatShed (HIIT and
omg still sore) and I was able to make it to a couple of my favorite Dance
classes at my old gym. The Aggies won and
we had a nice chill night complete with facemasks and vino. Griffin and I were able to
get some great fall style snaps -and loved spending Sunday in Central Park- we
got our hill walk workout on haha.
Now that I am
back for a bit I am excited to continue to get to know my home in Houston and
spend some time in the city. Any must try places please send my way! Chayson
and I have some exploring to do – especially with the Fall breeze we are having
😊 Oh and thank you to my new friend Kristine for these style
snaps. We were friends/ blog supporters on Instagram before I moved
and what a small world – she lives a few floors down from me. Yay new
friends and Houston weekends!
