Olive the Florals

Happy Sunday everyone! Ah a little behind on the blog game this week! It's been so busy lately. All the summer activities are in full swing! Shorter week last week for me since I came back from my long weekend in Texas - but surprisingly it ended up feeling much longer lol. Happy for the catch up weekend time today and a warm week here in NYC. Sooo I've been saving this look for warmer days and summer feels...after all we do have a little midsection out to say haiiiii! Floral crops and spring suede are out to play (see what I did there?).

This is probably one of my favorite looks so far for Spring/Summer. I've got a lot of use out of this Zara olive suede skirt (similar cut here) and it works well between seasons. I've worn it with boots and tights and now apparently crop tops for Spring/summer lol. Typically suede is seen as a cold weather fabrication but I feel like the past couple of Springs it has popped up more and more during this time - Especially during festival season. Last season it was all about the suede and fringe but now I have noticed that suede and even light dyed velvets are also becoming a warm weather trend. I'm still leaning towards suede vs. velvet though - the velvet looks still feel so Fall to me.

I would file suede in the 70s boho chic category - bright colors, camel tans, and even pale pinks all bring together a light Spring feel. I have a gorgeous tan Aritzia suede pencil skirt I need to bring back from last year (super sale now and limited sizes). A little pricier than I would have liked but the quality is on pointtt. My Zara olive skirt featured is a little more fall/winter but with the trending olive shade and bright top it works here. Channeling my inner Ariana here with the A-line cut. This floral Zara top is so fun and cute! I found it last summer (here) on sale and I have a pair of black culottes I've worn it with along with other a-line skirts. I just love the flattering cut and shape. Anything high waisted is a win with this type of top. Of course florals (mind blowing I know) are always a favorite of mine - especially when I can pair with a red lipstick :) Of course y'all know I'm a shoe girl - you'll find me living in these cute heels all season! I found them last summer at Macy's Backstage. Omg such a great deal and the block heel is really comfortable too. Love seeing all the new Off-Price stores opening up! Who knows, there could be one near you (check here)! I love the easy neutral tone and suede finish on these high sandals.
Side note: Too bad the day we shot this was not an 80 degree day lol it was about 40 degrees cooler and this is another thank you to my friends for capturing this look moment. Total stars Angela and Sarah are - it was Chillayyy and I thought it was going to "warm up" yaaaa didn't happen. So thanks again girls :) We camped out at the NomoSoho for a few along with other diner dashes to combat the cold. Thankful for good friends and warmer sunny days :)

This weekend was so nice to catch up and relax after three super busy weekends in a row. I needed a little me time to get my workouts in, run errands, and clean up the hut. Friday I took one of my favorite classes at Pon de Flo studios (FloShred Friday) and then caught up with a friend at Ted's Corner Tavern. I love Ted's for a classic cheese/charcuterie board and casual catch up time. The Sunburnt Rita is sooo good! I've been on a tequila drink choice these days haha just feels like summer. Saturday I didn't have anything planned besides zumba dance at Crunch but then a fun impromptu brunch happened (all about the yesssses) and I tried The Horny Ram with a few friends in Midtown East. UM they have a Pancake burger...enough said. lol we were all a little intimidated by that but the chorizo tacos were a solid choice. Today I tried ToneHouse with the #girlgang and YES it is intense. Heavily drill HIIT based with lots of speed/cardio bursts...Took me back to my hurdle track practice days - and probably taking me back to some serious icing and foam rolling tomorrow haha A great challenge and fun morning with the girls!

AH YAY Ready for Memorial Day weekend and Summer Fridays at work! Chayson comes this weekend too sooo I have some partayyyy planning in the works! Any fun ideas/suggestions send my way. Happy Monday friends.
