Spring Into Marsala

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was nice having Chayson in town for lots of celebrations...his birthday, my birthday gift, and our 2 year anniversary. It was a jam packed weekend! I surprised him with a homemade birthday dinner Friday night...featuring some of these Pinterest recipes here, here, and here (try them they came out amazing!). Saturday we walked the Brooklyn Bridge (style and day post coming soon), had dinner at The Black Ant, and went to Sleep No More for my birthday gift. Ok for all you homesick Texas out there, The Black Ant has some amazing guac and a great marg special soo y'all check that out ;) The shrimp tacos were delicious and everything was reasonably priced. So for those not familiar, Sleep No More is this crazy interactive play in the McKittrick Hotel. It's based off of Macbeth and it is definitely a mind bending experience...we were a bit confused when we left buttt I'm thinking we will go back and have a second go. I felt like we were warped into a completely different time period...very Gatsby-esque. Chayson did a great job picking that out for my birthday <3

So with this post I was trying to Spring it up a bit. It's still SO hard to get in the mood with 20-35 degree weather. I figured lightening up my colors and adding a light weight sweater would do the trick. I'd say the hero of this look have to be my Sam Edelman shoes (on sale at Macy's) and BCBGeneration hat (similar here and here). The heels are really comfortable and I LOVE the Marsala color (Pantone's color of the year). It transitions well from Fall/Winter into Spring/Summer. Everyone knows I'm a definite Kendra Scott fan and these earrings (similar) and necklace were actually my first Kendra pieces. The translucent look is always great for a quick jewelry fix.

My lip color is actually a mix of several different lipsticks from my makeup drawer. I think these colors here, here, and here are closest to what I am wearing. I was trying to match it with my hat/shoes hence the extreme color mixing haha.

Hope you are off to a great week! Time to do that whole Monday thing again..
