So excited to finally get this posted! Last month one of my oldest best friends Jennifer, came to visit me and I have to say I felt like I was on vacation...homegirl did her research and got to party planning. I was excited to experience a few NYC activities on my to-do list. One of the things I had not done yet was a food tour. Jen found this one HERE in Chelsea Market and we had such a fun time. We not only ate A TON, but toured the sites of the Meatpacking area as well. Our tour guide was a quirky animated fellow with a lot of great stories and info. He did a nice job and definitely put on a show for his tour.
We went to seven different tastings in Chelsea Market and finished with a sit down dinner at an Italian restaurant in the Meatpacking District. The tastings covered just a little bit of everything...sweets, meat, cheese, veggies, spices, wine, pasta, etc. One of my favorite activities when traveling is eating - This particular tour is $52 and I highly recommend any visitors try it out. This is a great snap shot of just how amazing the food is here in New York City.
Here are a few of the highlights below :)
Delish Red Velvet Cupcake and Chocolate Milk at Eleni's |
Beef Tartar - Yes that means it's raw...BUT it was AMAZING |
A quiche type dish at an Italian market |
The most amazing grilled cheese from Lucy's Whey |
Fresh made doughnuts from the Doughnuttery |
Fresh biscuits and Jam from Sarabeth's Bakery |
