Today we said our goodbyes to Paris and made our way to Avignon. This was just an overnight stop in route to Nice, France. It was the longest bus ride of the trip, but it was nice to have some down time after a busy week. I caught up journals, listened to music, uploaded photos, and slept a lot...the usual for long bus rides. Exhaustion began to take over and it was surprising how easy I fell asleep on the bus. We stopped a lot and I got ice cream at one of our rest stops so I was a happy camper. I was really looking forward to the small village-like town of Avignon. We arrived to exactly what I had pictured, a quaint cobblestone town. There were market places everywhere and little cafes, I loved it. Our hotel was much nicer than the one in Paris. Room 316 in Paris had been leaking water from the bathroom wall so it was not the most present place to stay. In Avignon we had a view of the Palace of the Popes it was so pretty. It literally looked like we had a little castle outside our window. My poor roommate Hannah was really sick and running a fever, it was not her best day. So once we were settled a few of the girls and I ran to a pharmacy and got her some medicine and than went to dinner. We all decided to try the pizza, and I have found that Europe in general knows how to make a great pizza. It was nice to have an easy going quiet evening with no plans, and plenty of time to catch up on sleep.
